Dr.
Donald I. Galen is a leading Infertility specialist and Surgical
Director of the Reproductive Science Center of the San Francisco
Bay Area. He has specialized in microsurgical reversal of female
sterilization ("MTR" or "tubal ligation reversal")
for the past 23 years. He was the first physician in the US to perform
this procedure using an advanced surgical robot.
Dr.
Galen and his colleagues provide a wide range of conventional and
advanced infertility treatments, and their clinic is one of the
largest out-patient MTR facilities in the country.
Dr. Galen obtained his
undergraduate degree at UCLA in molecular genetics and microbiology.
A graduate of the USC School of Medicine, Dr. Galen completed his
residency training in obstetrics & gynecology at UC Medical Center
in San Francisco. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics
& Gynecology, and by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy.
He is also a member of the Society of Reproductive Surgeons and
numerous other professional organizations. Dr. Galen has authored
or co-authored over 70 publications and is widely known for his
expertise in gynecological microsurgery, minimally-invasive surgery
and Assisted Reproductive Technologies. He is active in didactic
and hands-on surgical teaching, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor
of OB/GYN at the University of California, Davis.
